My name is Joe Autin and I am a third generation wild alligator hunter. I come from a long line of cajuns who live primarily off of the wild life resources that God has blessed us with in the marshes of south east Louisiana. My family has hunted and fished these beautiful marshes for decades. Mere words can’t describe the beauty of seeing a louisiana sunrise on a misty morning boat ride. The Autin family has fished, shrimped, crabbed, trapped, and hunted these marshes for a long time and we live and breath the cajun way of life. We will continue to promote the cajun lifestyle that is in my blood, it’s our heritage and we intend to protect it for future generations.
There was a period of time that the wild alligator population in our state dropped drasticly, but through the conservation efforts of Louisiana Wild Life & Fisheries, wild alligator hunters, and the alligator farmers we now have a healthy population of gators.
Myself along with Claudia, my beautiful wife of 32 years, and my two wonderful children, Jodd and Brea, we started our company, J & B Seafood processing in 1990. We are in every sense of the word family owned and operated. Following the decline in price for alligator hides the wild alligator hunting lifestyle was in jeopardy so we expanded into the leather business to provide an outlet for the hunters to sell their hides. The american alligator, processed in america by american workers and sold as AMERICAN MADE. From the Louisiana marsh to shelves around the world we handle it all right here in the USA.
